Basic Rules of Fantasy Baseball

In today's time fantasy baseball has been getting popularity among people because in this game people can make their own teams. Fantasy baseball follows a lot of baseball rules and one can not understand these rules easily .For everyone interested in this sport, here are some basic baseball rules.


1. The game - A fantasy baseball is played in between two teams and each team has nine players. If a team consists of less than nine players, then it can not participate in fantasy baseball. Two methods are applied for selecting players – draft and auction method. One should check what kind of method is followed so that he can prepare accordingly.


2, The equipment – The main equipments that are used in the fantasy baseball are bats and balls. Gloves, pads and helmets are also used. Baseball is a very hard game and one can get injuries frequently so he should wear all these equipments. If one does not wear these equipments then he will not be allowed to play the game.


3. The field – It is necessary that a baseball field must be divided in two parts – one is infield and another is outfield. One should has deep knowledge about these areas, so that he can play where he should play.


4. On defense side – For playing baseball a pitcher should be present in between the field so that he can start the game by throwing the ball. Several ways in which a defensive player can be an offensive player are:

a. Strikes out – If a player misses three pitches, then he will be declared out.

b. Fly out –If a player hits the ball and it is caught by a defensive player before it touches the ground, then also he is declared out.

c. Tag outs- If ball touches the player's glove or pad, then he will be declared out.


5. On offense side – If a batter hits the ball in the field, only then he can start run. During running a batter is referred as runner and he can run until he is not out.


6. The scoring system – In the fantasy baseball two kinds of scoring systems are used- Cumulative and head-to-head scoring system. One should consider what kind of scoring system a baseball game follows before taking part.
